The Rural Innovators Awards recognise projects, people and organisations who are improving life in rural communities across rural Scotland. The Award categories reflect the key themes from the recently launched draft Manifesto for rural Scotland, released by Scottish Rural Action on 8th September 2016, and also recognise Angus project, as the host county for this year’s Scottish Rural Parliament.
The winner in each category are as follows:

Angus: The Food Life (Angus)
Community Council: Sleat Community Council (Isle of Skye)
Young People: Dynamic Dance (Shetland)
Health & Social Care: Inspired by Autism (Dunoon & Cowal)
Housing: Ulva Ferry (Isle of Mull)
Land: Rockfield Centre (Oban)
Transport: Mull & Iona Sustainable Transport (Isle of Mull)
Food & Drink: Mull & Iona Food Trail (Isle of Mull)
All winners have now been invited to attend and present their project to delegates attending the Scottish Rural Parliament, taking place at Brechin Community Campus, Angus from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th October 2016.
