A group comprised of local organisations has been formed to provide advice and support to the group organising the first Scottish Rural Parliament. The group who are all based in and around Oban, have been engaged following the announcement that the event will take place in Oban in November this year.
The group includes representatives of Argyll & Bute Council, Argyll Voluntary Action, Atlantis Leisure Centre, Bid4Oban and Oban Community Council and will be widening its membership as appropriate over the coming months.
The group will be assisting SRA in identifying suitable venues, visits, entertainment and produce to showcase the best of Oban and the surrounding area. The group is chaired by Neil Matheson from Atlantis Leisure and the Vice Chair is Sandy Brunton from SRA and the Mull & Iona Development Trust.
