After three years as the Chair, and latterly the Co-Chair, of Scottish Rural Action, the board and staff at SRA wish to thank John Hutchison as he retires from the board of directors.
John first became involved in Scottish Rural Action by attending stakeholder workshops exploring the potential for a Scottish Rural Parliament. He was nominated to the board of directors by Community Land Scotland and with his extensive record of leading positive change in rural Scotland, there was no hesitation in appointing John as Chair of the newly formed company.
At the Annual General Meeting of Scottish Rural Action held on March 4th 2016, John spoke about the “great privilege” it had been to serve on the board and be a part of Scotland’s first Rural Parliament. He thanked his fellow directors and staff for their support and Cabinet Secretary Richard Lochhead for his ongoing commitment to the Rural Parliament. John received a letter of thanks for his services from Mr Lochhead a few days before the AGM for which he was grateful.
John’s Co-Chair Amanda Burgauer gave her thanks and those of the board and staff to John for guiding the organisation and team through its formative stages.
