What would be in your Manifesto for rural Scotland?
This year we held over 40 events across rural Scotland, from Jura to Lerwick, and Canonbie to Cupar, and Thurso to Oakley. Our National Coordinator, Emma, travelled almost 4000 miles, just for the events she did!
At each event we discussed the key challenges and opportunities each rural community faces. We are turning these into a Manifesto for rural Scotland – a statement of our collective ambitions and needs for rural communities. We believe this will be a powerful statement which all of rural Scotland can agree to.
At the Rural Parliament in October 2016, we will be deciding how to take forward these issues and prioritising those that Scottish Rural Action – the body which organises the Rural Parliament and associatied activities – should lead the way on.
